Painted and weathered after that.īought some fabric which I was as close as I could get to the colour (buying the correct colour fabric and texture pains me greatly and end up mumbling things under my breath in my local craft store like some sort of crazy person). I started with the mask and am using a thermoplastic by the name of Worbla Deco Art Beads, which are heaps of fun to work with, I've never used them before so I'm a little clumsy with them but hoping practice will improve. Used wonderflex as the base of the mask and heated and shaped to my face. So anyway, here is the character for reference to which I'm going off.īasically to create the mask I hand sketched up a template and redrew it to fit to my face. I haven't really seen many other Rain cosplays, if anyone does know of any I'd love to see them! I grew up playing MK and would like to create several of the costumes eventually (and am super excited for the new MK to come out ) I have chosen Rain as I love the fact he was initially just a sneaky trick and his reference of purple rain (I really enjoy game creators having a good sense of humour). I've decided to do a Rain build from Mortal Kombat 9. I thought this time I would post up one of the costumes I'm making currently.
